A native of Alabama, Brandon McGadney has been a Respiratory Specialist at Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care for the last 7 years. His time with Thrive has afforded him the opportunity to work firsthand with young children experiencing respiratory issues, which sparked his newfound passion for being a change agent in young adult lives.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” is one of Brandon’s favorite quotes and is something he tries to incorporate in every facet of his life. He carried this mantra with him during his time at Alabama State University, where he played football. Currently, Brandon enjoys playing cornerback for the Georgia Smoke Flag Football Team & listening to R&B, but nothing tops the activity he enjoys the most: Having movie nights with his wife, Shelby, & two children, Madison and Braylen.

Why did you choose to pursue a podcast?
Joining a podcast is something I’ve wanted to do for awhile and I found an opportunity to do it with guys that I already enjoy talking to. It was a no brainer.
What has been life changing about your journey?
Fatherhood has been the most transformative experience for me along my journey. Taking on the responsibility of two small lives has changed me for the better. I no longer view life through a selfish lens and I owe that all to my family.
What have you been up to and what can we look forward to seeing from you?
Outside of the podcast, my life is pretty regular. Most days you can find me on the couch chilling with my wife and kids. In the future, I hope to be involved in various coaching opportunities.
Why is it important to embrace who you are?
In my opinion, fully embracing who you are sets the standard for every move you make throughout life. Success only comes when you a true to yourself.
How does your brand or what you do cultivate cultural empowerment?
I think our platform is creating an opportunity for other Black men to feel empowered enough to be vulnerable and honest about the inner workings of their lives.
What are some things you are most proud of?
Being a great dad, being a provider for my family, being the oldest of 3 boys and laying a path for my younger brothers to follow, and my relationship with Christ.
