Hello Our Black Men Magazine readers, during May we observe Mental Health Awareness Month. According to IBelieve.Com, our souls are made up of mind, will, and emotions. We strengthen our souls by fixing our thoughts. To see transformation in our souls, we must renew our minds.
It is our distinct pleasure to introduce our readers to businessman, spiritual healer, and Founder of Soul Tribes, Bobby Shu. In this journey of discovery, Bobby Shu’s love for spirituality and healing has led him down this unique path with a history of more than 5,000 years.
Bobby Shu, affectionately known as Shaman Shu or Dr. Shu, founded Soul Tribes International Ministries in Detroit, Michigan. He is a gifted spiritual healer passionate about empowering individuals toward self-discovery and inner peace through the gift of human connection.
Describe the moment that you knew you were a gifted spiritual healer. What signs or life events called you to this empowering path?
Bobby Shu: Growing up, I was surrounded by the church and many of my family members are part of the clergy. However, I chose to direct my attention toward serving the community. The outbreak of Covid-19 prompted me to reflect on my personal values and priorities. I have discovered my calling as a scared plant teacher who helps people reconnect with themselves spiritually and physically.
How did Soul Tribes International Ministries in Detroit, Michigan come about and what is the mission?
Bobby Shu: At Soul Tribes, we focus on the healing power of plant medicine. Our goal is to support individuals in their journey toward healing from past trauma, regardless of their personal beliefs.
As a Reiki grandmaster, breath coach, and sacred botanical alchemist with a Ph.D. would you say your spiritual practices help with mental health? If so, in what ways?
Bobby Shu: Yes, Many people are unaware of the fact that we have the ability to heal ourselves. The objective of Soul Tribe is to provide individuals with the necessary tools to self-heal.
Helping individuals discover and pursue their passion is what drives me. Seeing people transform and find their rhythm is a fulfilling experience. I strive to aid them in releasing their full potential and becoming the best version of themselves.
What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?
Bobby Shu: Seeing my clients heal and grow from their trauma is incredibly rewarding. Their smiles and expressions of joy make all the hard work worth it.
What healing and spiritual practices are most meaningful to you and why?
Bobby Shu: Each person’s journey towards healing is unique and sacred plant medicine can play a significant role in this process. It is truly fulfilling to witness individuals who were initially hesitant about trying it, ultimately have a positive life-changing experience.
Are there any misconceptions in your line of work that you often find yourself having to educate others about?
Bobby Shu: That it is a European thing and UnGodly. Scared plant medicine has been around from the beginning of time. Plants have been used for centuries to heal the body. Unlike Western Medicine, sacred plant medicine is not practiced, but it grows naturally and has the ability to heal both the body and soul.
What advice would you give to someone currently on the journey toward self-discovery and inner peace?
Be patient with yourself and show yourself grace.
What do you want your legacy to look like?
Bobby Shu: Many people have testified that Shaman Shu has helped them with their spiritual, physical, mental, and financial needs.
