You recently received recognition with an Award Nomination for the 49th Annual Jackson Music Awards ‘Hip Hop Male Artist of The Year’ category. What did it take to get to this vast point of success in your career?

J.Lock: Without God, none of this would be possible. I’ve worked hard and committed to my craft, so I can be the best I can be. Also having a great team got me to this point.

What have been some other memorable moments in your career so far

J.Lock: One of my memorable moments in my career was meeting some of the founders of Hip Hop like Curtis Blow, slick Rick, Mc Lyte, and more. Another is just my family and friends even strangers singing my lyrics and supporting the songs I’ve made since I started.

What else are you up to these days and what can we be on the lookout for

J.Lock: I’m just constantly working and trying to make the best body of music I can make. You can definitely be on the lookout for more J. Lock whether it’s seeing, or hearing me more.

What does creating music mean to you?

J.Lock: Making music means a lot to me. It’s my life and a way of expressing myself in a way I can’t do outside of music.

What is the best advice you have ever received as a music artist?

See Also

J.Lock: I was told to be yourself no matter what. Don’t change who you are as a person. That stuck with me because I wasn’t able to do that in the circumstances I was in.

What more would you like to see in the music industry?

J.Lock: I’m not going to say “see”, but things that I would love to accomplish will be the Grammys, VMAs, Bet Awards, and even more. Most importantly to continue getting better and being the best I can be.

What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

J.Lock: Thank you for being on this journey with me and watching me grow as an artist and person. Without y’all, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
